Meet the Jazztet recorded in 1960 is a hardbop fest of fun. Although the sextet is not an unusual aggregation, the lineup of performers is unique. There are two nods to Tin Pan Alley here; from the Porgy & Bess opera the Gershwin tune, It Ain't Necessarily So and the Cole Porter tune It's Alright With Me. An original by Benny Golson, I Remember Clifford showcases Art Farmer's mellow trumpet playing.
