Awkward i is the moniker of Dutch songwriter, musician, singer and composer, Djurre de Haan (born 24 March 1981 in Groningen, The Netherlands). Now based in Amsterdam, De Haan started writing songs in his hometown of Groningen, inspired by songwriters such as Randy Newman, Bill Callahan, Elliott Smith and Will Oldham. He moved to the United States for a few years, spending time in rural Pennsylvania and Michigan.
