César Guerra-Peixe (18 March 1914 – 26 November 1993) was a Brazilian composer, conductor, violinist, music educator, and researcher of Brazilian folk music. Born in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, to a family of Portuguese descent, he became one of the most important figures in twentieth-century Brazilian classical music, noted for combining modern compositional techniques with elements of Brazilian folklore.
