Carina Messier was born and raised near Brussels, Belgium within an artistic family. Both parents were painters and sculptors of some regional reputation. But, it was a beloved uncle who played clarinet in local dance bands who introduced her to music. As Carina entered her teens, the Messier family moved to Montreal. It was there where she began teaching herself guitar and keyboards, while also developing deep interests in astronomy, physics, science fiction and graphics. Read more on Last.fm
