Cats in Boots was an international hard rock band formed in Los Angeles in the late 1980s by Japanese guitarist Takashi "Jail" O'Hashi, formerly of "Seikima-II", and bassist Yasuhiro "Butch" Hatae. The group was completed by American vocalist Joel Ellis and drummer Randy Meers, both previously members of the band "Merri Hoax".
