Chris Breemer was born in 1952 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Early piano tuition was only moderately fruitful because of an aversion to practising and a general dislike of the standard piano teaching material. Only after quitting lessons he fell passionately in love with the music of Chopin, Liszt, and a host of other composers, and for many years he played (or attempted to play) anything that came his way, devouring a sizeable chunk of the standard and not-so-standard piano literature.
