Göteborgsmusiken traces its history to 1905 when enthusiast tram workers started a brass sixtet. Later it became Spårvägens Musikkår (the Tram Music Corps). It was organised to its present form in 1992 when it was established as a musical institution with 26 full time musicians, an artistic leader and administration. Since 1998 they are working in the 17th century building of Kronhuset "within the moat" of old central Göteborg. In 1997 the orchestra was given the status as Swedish Airforce Music Corps with additional funding. Read more on Last.fm
