Johan Kvandal (1919-1999) is highly esteemed among Norway's contemporary composers. His music is annually present on the repertoire of the large orchestras in Norway. But there is an increasing interest for his music abroad; and recently Kvandal has been performed in New York, London, Tokyo, Germany and many Russian cities.
