John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman is a studio album released by Impulse! Records in mid-1963 (A-40). It remains the only recording on which Coltrane featured a vocalist as leader, and it was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2013. Although Coltrane and Hartman are sometimes said to have known each other from Dizzy Gillespieās band in the late 1940s, their tenures did not overlap.
