Karlsøy Prestegaard originated on the small island Karlsøy in the Troms region in Norway in 1980. In 1981 they released their first record, a 7" single called "Shanty/Komeini". In 1982 they released their 10 song LP "Dyret 666". By many considered the most important full length album out of northern Norway. The content in their lyrics was considered very controversial by the local press... and all-though not all their music sounded straight up "punk", their attitude most certainly was.
