Kid City were an American indie rock band from Portland, Maine, active from 1995-1999. They began as a loose collective of high school musicians (and non-musicians) that recorded their songs to the onboard condenser mics of old cassette players. Later, the lineup solidified as a trio with Alex Merrill and Ned Meiners playing guitars, and Peter Wannemacher on drums. The closest thing to a formal release the band ever had was a split seven inch with The Influence of Atmosphere, another band of high school kids from southern Maine. Read more on Last.fm
