Maarit Hurmerinta (November 10, 1953 in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish singer. Maarit's musical career began in 1972 when Atte Blom, the manager of Love Records, found her. Soon her first single, "Aamun tulo" ("Coming of the Morning"), and first album, "Maarit", came out. After that she has recorded nearly twenty albums. Lyrics in Maarit's songs are usually written by herself, and mostly her husband, guitarrist Sami Hurmerinta composes music.
