Maher Cissoko grew up in Casamance in the southern Senegal but has lived in Sweden for 15 years and has established himself as a well-known name in folk and world music circles, among other things through nominations such as best folk music release at the Manifest Award and several nominations and awards at the Folk and World Music Gala in Sweden.
