Matt Jencik & Midwife is a collaborative musical project uniting American composer/multi-instrumentalist Matt  Jencik and singer-songwriter Midwife (a.k.a. Madeline Johnston). Based in Chicago and Denver respectively, the pair released their singular joint album Never Die in July 2025 via Relapse Records. The album was born out of Jencik’s desire to move from ambient drone to vocal-centred song-writing, paired with Johnston’s immersive, minimalist sound-world and delicate voice. Read more on Last.fm
