Nifelheim is a Swedish black metal band formed in 1990 in Dals LĂ„nged by Hellbutcher (vocals), Tyrant (bass/guitar), and Demon (drums). Guitarist Morbid Slaughter later joined the lineup. The band made its first recording around the end of 1992 or beginning of 1993, releasing the "Unholy Death Demo," which drew attention within the underground metal community and received favorable reviews for its raw style reminiscent of early Venom, Hellhammer, Bathory, and Mayhem.
