PÄrkons (this means Thunder in Latvian) was one of the most popular and scandalous bands of 1980's in Latvia. They formed in RÄ«ga, Latvia in 1981. Because of the bands politically sharp lyrics it was banned for some time. The lyrics of the songs were mostly poems by MÄris Melgalvs and KlÄvs Elsbergs. Juris Kulakovs composed the music. Though PÄrkons stopped their active work in early 1990's, the band still does some concerts from time to time. Read more on Last.fm
