Pow Pow Family Band, the self-described âworst cult in America,â was born during Miles Robbinsâ time at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. Elements of the bandâs musical style are derived from its namesake song, âPow Powâ from LCD Soundsystemâs 2010 album, This is Happening. After bonding over a shared appreciation for this album, Robbins and classmate Nara Shin began to play underground shows together around Providence and gradually found collaborators.
