Shirley Walton is an American soul and R&B singer. She released two 45s on the Enterprise record label in 1968 and was associated with Stax. Born in Baystown, TX, United States in 1936, her best known track is probably the 1968 civil rights anthem 'Send Peace and Harmony Home', her signature song, which she was recording at the studio on 4 April 1968, the day Dr. Martin Luther King was shot.
