Sigurður Guðmundsson and Kiddi from the band Hjálmar where trying out an old Ribbon microphone in the studio where Kiddi works and they decided to invite their fellow musicians to help them test drive the mic. The idea was to record old Icelandic lounge music in mono with one mic and one take like in the old days. After some preparation, song picking and positioning the instruments relative to the location of the mic, they recorded this great album; "Oft spurði ég mömmu" or "Often I asked mother".
