French saxophonist born 1974. Sophie Alour was born in 1974, she learned the saxophone by herself after she studied the clarinet at Quimper Music School in France. She learned jazz "on stage". In 2004, Rhoda Scott approached her to form her lady quartet, and the same year she played in the Wynton Marsalis' Big Band.
