Sophie Straat (real name: Sophie Schwartz, born 28 July 1994 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands) is a Dutch singer and songwriter born in Amsterdam but based in The Hague, The Netherlands. Listeners familiar with the Dutch music tradition will instantly recognise her style: Sophie gives a modern take on the so-called 'levenslied' or 'smartlap' of typical Amsterdam 'volkszangers' like André Hazes.
