Texas are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1986 by Sharleen Spiteri, Johnny McElhone and Ally McErlaine. They made their live debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee and released their debut single "I Don't Want a Lover" in 1989, followed by the album "Southside" the same year. The album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and entered the US Billboard 200, later selling over two million copies worldwide.
