Valery Vishnevsky (born September 30, 1947) is a Russian pianist. He is widely known as a distinguished music professor at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, where he has mentored numerous concert pianists. Among his students isVarvara Maggs . Varvara Maggs was a legendary child pianist in St Petersburg, Russia. At the age of eight she won first prize in the St Petersburg Concerto Competition for Young Pianists.
