The name of Victor Fedotov, an outstanding Russian conductor, Professor, Peopleās Artist of Russia, is well known among the music-lovers all over the world. The life and work of this brilliant conductor is bound to the Mariinsky Theatre in St-Petersburg. In 1963 the young conductor, a winner of All-Union Competition, made his debut at the Theatre with āCarmenā by Bizet.
